Japan Smaller Capitalization Closed Fund (NYSE: JOF) is a U.S.-domiciled closed-end investment fund listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Formerly known as Japan OTC Equity Fund, Inc., the fund was launched in 1990 and is managed by Nomura Asset Management U.S.A. Inc., with portfolio management by Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd. Its mandate is to invest in Japanese public equity markets, with a focus on small-cap companies across a broad range of sectors. The portfolio may include shares traded on the Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya stock exchanges, as well as JASDAQ, Mothers, Hercules, Centrex, and related Japanese market indices. The fund measures its results against the Russell/Nomura Small Cap Index.
