MetaVia Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing pharmaceutical candidates for cardiometabolic diseases. Its pipeline includes DA-1241, a G-protein-coupled receptor 119 agonist being studied as a standalone and potential combination therapy, and DA-1726, an oxyntomodulin analogue designed as a dual GLP-1 receptor and glucagon receptor agonist. DA-1241 is in Phase 2a testing for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis and previously completed a Phase 1 study in type 2 diabetes, while DA-1726 is in Phase 1 development for obesity. The company also advances ANA001 for moderate COVID-19, NB-01 for painful diabetic neuropathy, NB-02 for cognitive impairment, and Gemcabene for dyslipidemia. MetaVia is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has a license agreement with Pfizer for Gemcabene, and relies on Dong-A ST as the sole manufacturer for DA-1241 and DA-1726. Formerly known as NeuroBo Pharmaceuticals, the company adopted the MetaVia name in November 2024 and operates as a subsidiary of Dong-A ST Co., Ltd.
