Matson, Inc. is a Honolulu-based transportation and logistics company founded in 1882 and listed on the NYSE under the symbol MATX. Through its subsidiaries, the company operates in two main segments: Ocean Transportation and Logistics. Its ocean transportation business serves Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, other island economies in Micronesia, and selected routes in the South Pacific, including an expedited service between China and Long Beach, California, as well as service to Okinawa, Japan. Matson also provides a range of logistics and terminal-related services, including stevedoring, refrigerated cargo handling, inland transportation, container equipment maintenance, brokerage, freight forwarding, warehousing, trans-loading, packaging, distribution, and other freight management services. Its customer base includes the U.S. military, freight forwarders, retailers, consumer goods manufacturers, and other shippers.
