National HealthCare Corporation (NHC) is a healthcare services company listed on the NYSE as common equity. Through its Inpatient and Homecare and Hospice Services segments, the company operates skilled nursing facilities, assisted and independent living facilities, homecare and hospice agencies, and behavioral health services. Its skilled nursing operations include therapy, nutrition, social, housekeeping, and physician-prescribed medical services, along with rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from a range of medical conditions. NHC also provides specialized memory care and sub-acute nursing services, assisted living support for daily activities, and independent living communities for active older adults. In addition, the company offers home-based care, hospice and palliative care, pharmacy services, managed care insurance solutions, management and financial services, and property leasing to third-party operators. Founded in 1971, NHC is based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
