Its Performance Materials segment supplies hardwood-based and chemically activated carbon products used in gasoline vapor emission control systems and in purification applications for food, water, beverages, and chemicals. Performance Chemicals includes road technologies and industrial specialties used in pavement-related applications, road markings, agrochemical dispersants, lubricants, adhesives, rubber, and other industrial uses. Advanced Polymer Technologies produces caprolactone and caprolactone-based specialty polymers for coatings, resins, elastomers, adhesives, bioplastics, and medical devices.
The company was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in North Charleston, South Carolina. It was formerly known as WestRock Company, Specialty Chemicals Business, and adopted the Ingevity name in September 2015.
