Its Security Products segment makes mechanical and electronic locking systems used in applications such as ignition systems, mailboxes, office furniture, cabinets, storage units, medical cabinetry, access-control containers, electrical panels, and vending or cash containment equipment. The Marine Components segment produces and distributes parts and accessories for ski/wakeboard boats, performance boats, and related recreational marine and transportation uses, including exhaust components, controls, gauges, trim tabs, steering wheels, and other hardware. CompX sells to original equipment manufacturers and distributors. Incorporated in 1993 and based in Dallas, Texas, the company operates as a subsidiary of NL Industries, Inc.
