The company operates energy-related businesses through four reportable segments: Electric, Gas, DTE Vantage, and Energy Trading. Its electric utility business serves about 2.3 million residential, commercial, and industrial customers in southeastern Michigan and includes power generation, transmission, distribution, and related infrastructure. The gas utility segment serves roughly 1.4 million customers across Michigan and is involved in natural gas purchase, storage, transportation, and distribution. DTE Vantage provides a range of industrial energy and environmental services, while Energy Trading focuses on power, natural gas, and environmental marketing and trading activities, along with optimization of pipeline transportation and storage positions. Founded in 1849, the company is based in Detroit, Michigan.
