Its operations are organized into three segments: Commercial Banking, Healthcare Financial Services, and Consumer Banking.

The company provides a broad range of deposit, lending, and fee-based services. Its offerings include checking, savings, and money market accounts, time deposits, retirement savings accounts, and certificates of deposit. Webster also extends mortgage, home equity, commercial, student, SBA, personal, and term lending, along with commercial mortgages and business credit lines. Additional services include financial planning, insurance solutions, retirement plans, credit cards, payroll processing, cash-management tools, merchant services, treasury management, investment services, private banking, wealth management, and online and mobile banking.

Founded in 1870, Webster Financial Corporation is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.
